Yes, I am a golak-chor, but... ?

I am a poor janitorial safai-karamchari worker. I was serving in a gurdwara.  Then, I made the mistake of stealing one rupee, less than three cents, from the golak.

I am at a loss to understand how I did it.  I instantly realized that this was a sin and cannot be justified by any means. But this had already occurred. I was under the spell of my dilemmas. Suddenly one of the Gursikhs close to the management happened to be there, and as is said, I was caught red-handed.  Alarm bells were sounded and the alert committee members were there.  My pleadings, my prayers, tears rolling down from eyes, my folded hands, reference to my kids, my job, my request for forgiveness, my future and so on to the surrounding management was not able to soften their toughened attitude. Then I realized how helpless a poor person can be when confined and in the custody of all powerful.

Then came the hour of instant justice. First, a slate was made with the inscription "golak chor" haan.  ਮੈਂ ਗੋਲਕ ਚੋਰ ਹਾਂ  and I was made to hold it. As if this was not enough, I was handed over to the police.  I lost my job. My wailing children unattended back at home and I found myself sitting behind bars, pondering my mistake.  My mind prompted my body to commit this crime. The committee decided to give me physical punishment.  These days the jails are also called reformation centres, ਸੁਧਾਰ ਘਰ . If instead of handing over this physical punishment they had just asked me to sit in the sangat for a month or so and listen to the katha-kirtan it would have definitely cleansed my soul and reformed me. But this was not to be.

Am I wrong if it just comes to my mind that I got this rigorous punishment because I was poor and down-trodden? Had I been one of the gurdwara controlling bodies then perhaps bigger scams and scandals would have just been pushed under the carpet. If they even sell the Gurdwara itself nothing happens. But if a poor person like me just pilfers a rupee,  he is given demolishing punishment.

Guru Nanak Dev ji also reformed Bhumia Chor and Guru Hargobind ji reformed Bhai Bidhi Chand by bringing him to sangat and washing away their sins with naam-simran and sangat. Is not compassion the first sign by which we recognize the Guru’s Sikh?

GOD'S FACE

Where do I go to see God's face?

Is it in the reflection from the stained glass windows of the ornate cathedral
Or in the rainbow after a summer evening's shower?

Is it in the wooden cross that hangs prominently in the front of a chapel
Or in the hand blistered from creating a home for one who had not?

Is it in the podium from which magnificent sermons are preached
Or in the fulfilled faces of children who won't go to bed hungry today for the first time in their lives?

Is it in the flickering candles in the front of the church
or in a friend's eyes as he wipes tears from your heart?

For God is not confined by adorned walls or symbols of His glory.
He cannot be described by an ancient relic or historical artifact.
His face is in all he created.

God's face is in the fading sunset over a wintry landscape.
God's face is the quiet meadow
As the three week old fawn nurses at her mother's breast.
God's face is the laughter of a little boy as he wobbles on his bicycle
Down the sidewalk for the first time without support.
God's face can be found when we open our hearts to His love.

Where do I go to hear God's voice?

Is it in the pipe organ that plays a solemn hymn
Or in the screams of a newborn baby as she sucks her first breath?

Is it in the words of a preacher as he pounds his fist on the pulpit
Or in the whisper of flapping butterfly wings as a gentle breeze carries it over the rustling grass?

Is it in the chorus of a melody that is sung on the radio
Or in the quiet prayers of children kneeling beside their bed before sleep?

Is it in the typed text of a worn devotional book
or in the quietness of falling snow under a full moon at midnight?

For God's voice isn't limited to man's simple understanding,
But the awesome power of His genius.
God's voice is in all he gave voice to.
God's voice is heard in the whistle of wind
Through the willows on a country lake sheltered from civilization.
God's voice is heard in the clap of thunder during August storm.
God's voice is heard in the last serenade of the crickets
In the cool autumn air.
God's voice can be heard when we still our hearts to His love.

Where do I go to feel God's touch?

Is it in the embrace of a familiar stranger sitting next to you at church
Or in the soft stroke of a grandmother's weathered finger's on her grandchild's cheek?

Is it the hand that distributes pamphlets Proclaiming God's wrath on a street corner
Or in the grasp of a toddler as he wraps his tiny hand around his father's finger to guide his first steps?

Is it in the statues and decorations that adorn a sanctuary
Or in the silent reward of an unseen kind act?

Is it in the lukewarm words spoken in a time of need
Or in the strength of another's shoulder when yours are too weary from life's struggles?

For God's touch isn't felt in the objects or things that we fill our lives with,
But in the indescribable moments when His presence is near.
God's touch is in the painted face on a purple pansy waltzing with a gentle spring breeze.
God's touch is in the warmth of the sun shining through a frosted window In the dead of winter.
God's touch is felt as He guides us through the deep valley that lies in front of us.
God's touch is felt when He wraps His unconditional loving arms around the child in all of us that longs to call Him Daddy.

A Letter to You...

 My dear friend,

As you got up this morning, I watched you and hoped you would talk to me, even if it was just a few words, asking my opinion or thanked me for something good that happened in your life yesterday, but i noticed you were too busy trying to find the right outfit to put on and wear to work. So I waited. When you ran around the house getting ready, I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then I saw you spring to your feet, I thought you wanted to talk to me, but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip.

I watched you as you went to work and I waited patiently all day long. With all your activities I guess you were too busy to say anything to me. I noticed that before lunch you looked around, maybe you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you didn't bow your head. You glanced three or four tables over and you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly before they ate, but you didn't. That's okay, there is still more time left, and I hope that you will talk to me even yet.

You went home and it seems as you had lots of things to do. After a few of them were done you turned on the TV. I don't know if I like TV or not, just about anything goes there and you spend a lot of time each day in front of it, not thinking about anything else - just enjoying the show. I waited patiently a gain as you watched TV and ate your meal, but again you didn't talk to me. As you did your housework I waited again, as you did what you had to do. At bedtime I guess you felt too tired. After you said goodnight to your family you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time. That's okay, because you may not realise that I am always there for you.

I've got patience more than you will ever know. I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, a prayer, a thought or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a one-sided conversation.

Well, you are getting up again and once again I will wait with nothing but love for you hoping that today you will give me some time.

Have a nice day.

Yours,
WAHEGURU

Self reflection

Dear Lord, you blessed us with this human form,
after years and years of numerous births and deaths.
We have finally received this precious gift
but how do we allow our days to pass away?

Dear Lord you taught us,
to do that which is right
to do that which is truthful
to do that which is loving
But how do we allow our days to pass away?

Dear Lord you taught us,
to help the disadvantaged
to share what we process
to love and to respect humanity
But how do we allow our days to pass away?

Dear Lord you taught us,
to bow down to no other
to believe in one God
to rest our faith in you
But how do we allow our days to pass away?

Dear Lord you taught us,
to mediate on your name
to not forget you for an instant
to remember you in all that we do
But how do we allow our days to pass away?

Dear Lord, you blessed us with this human form,
after years and years of numerous births and deaths.
We have finally received this precious gift
but how do we allow our days to pass away?

How Great Love Is

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, and all of the others including Love.

One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all repaired their boats and left. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to persevere until the last possible moment. When the island was almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place for you here."

Love decided to ask Vanity, who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel, "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness let me go with you." "Oh...Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!" Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her!

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the elder her name.

When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Love realizing how much he owed the elder, asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who helped me?"

"It was Time", Knowledge answered.

"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."

Conversation with Waheguru..

Me: Waheguru Ji, can I ask You a question?
Waheguru Ji: Sure

Me: Promise You won't get mad
Waheguru Ji: I promise

Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?
Waheguru Ji: What do u mean?

Me: Well, I woke up late

Waheguru Ji: Yes

Me: My car took forever to start

Waheguru Ji: Okay

Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait

Waheguru Ji: Huummm

Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call

Waheguru Ji: All right

Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waheguru Ji: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that: ਮੰਨੈ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ Mannai Jam Kai Saathh N Jaae || The faithful do not have to go with the Messenger of death.

Me (humbled): OH

Waheguru Ji: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road. Aoukhee Gharree N Dhaekhan Dhaeee Apanaa Biradh Samaalae || I do not let My devotees see the difficult times; this is My innate nature.

Me: (ashamed)

Waheguru Ji: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work. Rog Sog Sabh Mitt Geae Nith Navaa Niroaa || All sorrows and sicknesses are eradicated, and you become ever-fresh and rejuvenated.

Me (embarrassed):Okay Ji

Waheguru Ji: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered. Hoe Sehaaee Jis Thoon Raakhehi This Kehaa Karae Sansaar ||2||14||23|| He who is protected by Me, The Helper Lord Waheguru Ji - what can the world do to him?

Me (softly): I see Waheguru Ji

Waheguru Ji: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark. Agiaan Andhhaeraa Kattiaa Joth Paragattiaaee Raam || The darkness of ignorance is dispelled, and the Divine light radiantly shines forth.

Me: I'm Sorry Waheguru Ji

Waheguru Ji: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in All things, the Good & the bad. Ghar Baahar Thaeraa Bharavaasaa Thoo Jan Kai Hai Sang || At home, and outside, Trust in me; I am always with My humble servant.

Me: I will trust You. Maan Nimaanae Thoon Dhhanee Thaeraa Bharavaasaa || You are the honor of the dishonored. O Master Waheguru Ji, in You I place my trust.

Waheguru Ji: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan. Rab Kee Rajaae Mannae Sir Oupar Karathaa Mannae Aap Gavaavai || As you submit to My will, and surrender to Me, the Creator, you get rid of selfishness and conceit.

Me: I won't doubt your plan for me, Waheguru Ji. And let me just tell you Waheguru Ji, Thank You for Everything today. Saevak Kai Bharapoor Jug Jug Vaahaguroo Thaeraa Sabh Sadhakaa || Your servants are totally fulfilled, throughout the ages; O Waheguru Ji, it is all You, forever.

Waheguru Ji: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your
Waheguru Ji and I Love looking after My Children... Apunae Jeea Janth Prathipaarae || Jio Baarik Maathaa Sanmaarae || I cherishe all My beings and creatures, As the mother cares for her children.

Thought

As our body needs nourishment - food, drink, sleep, so does our Soul need nourishment - sing, dance, love,Simran.

Life is not all work, work is not all hard toil. Nourish our soul with the food that is right for it, for it is the altar of our own inner temple.

Forgive me

Forgive me please when I act out,
for the pity parties stirred from a lot of self-doubt

Forgive me please for my silent voice,
for being bothered too much by another's noise

Forgive me please when I shout and fuss,
when I talk too much or in great anger cuss

Forgive me please for calling you names,
for gossiping and groaning because we're not the same

Forgive me please when I won't forgive,
God's told me it's wrong so I can rightly live

Forgive me please when I brag and boast;
it's inferior feelings, just so you I'll know

Forgive me please for picking you apart;
the words steal your joy and later tear out my heart

Forgive me please when I worry and fret,
for I'm human like you so don't be upset

Forgive me please when I act better than thou,
for indeed it's an act and you know this now

Forgive me please when I hate what I'm not,
just pray for me for that would mean a lot

Forgive me please when I bring in my past,
and make you pay for what another did last

Forgive me please as I beg your pardon;
for you'll need it too else your heart grow hardened

But most of all, I need God's forgiving touch,
and I know that I am, His Son meant that much…

Thought

Do not spend energy arguing whose truth is righter, - just like all life springs forth from one source, so are all truths but a reflection of God. Accept another truth as another way of loving God.

Thought for Today

" You have to ask yourself, 'Does this item or thought or response move me closer to my vision for my best life?' If it does, great. If it doesn't, what is it doing in your life? "
— Peter Walsh

The Secret of Life

Every day goes by like the last
It seems that time flies too fast
I close my eyes and ask it to stop
I look at the clock and another minute has passed
I think to myself…

What would I do if I weren't consumed
Consumed by the world and all that it is
The obligations attached to being successful and popular
What would I do?

Embrace those that I love…
Care for those that I don't…
Learn how to love those I hate….
Enjoy every moment I get…
Forget about what means nothing …
Remember all that means everything…
Make a joke when I shouldn't…
Laugh even though its not funny…
Cry when I'm happy…
Never fear, it only wastes time…
Show the devil when he's met his match…
Cast out my demons forever…
Travel the world and see…
Stand on the highest mountain…
Be the heart of a dead country...
Make my own music…
Even though it doesn't rhyme, make my own poem…
Sing my own songs…
Make new friends…
Accept different cultures…
Eat weird food…
Hug, kiss, and never let go…

All the things that I used to think were so important
I now realize mean nothing
All I want to do is help those who can't help themselves

All the money in the world can't buy my happiness
All the joys of doing what I love
All means nothing in the face of God if
All I have is nothing for him

In a matter of 60 seconds
I've figured out the secret of life
But now I'm falling asleep
Will I remember when I wake up?

'Raghead' Shirts for Sale: Take Action!

The Sikh Coalition is urging consumers worldwide to sign a petition to CafePress, demanding that the company stop selling racist t-shirts that promote bigotry against Sikhs.  CafePress is based in California and is one of the largest online retailers in the United States.  Sadly, the company website offers for sale a pair of t-shirts that say “No More Ragheads!” and “No More Towelheads!”  These racial slurs are often used to disparage the Sikh turban and have been used against Sikhs in the context of hate crimes.

If you believe that CafePress should remove these offensive and dangerous products from its inventory, please follow this link and sign the petition today: http://tinyurl.com/6qw44aa

YOU

What is happening to my marriage?
What is happening to me?
What is happening to my children?
What is happening to my wife?
What is happening to my life?
What is happening to my career?
What is happening?

Why is it going worse each month?
Why is this world so cruel and cold?
Why is there so much violence?
Why is there so much corruption?
Why is it so?
Why?

These questions arise daily
The answers to them seems so difficult
While in fact, it is so simple...

The simple fact is...
We have done everything without God
We have forgotten where we came from
We have forgotten who has paid the price
We have lost our charity
We have lost our faith
We have lost our trust
We have lost our love
We have lost ourselves

God said in His book
We must love one another
We must have faith
We must have charity
We must trust in Him

We have come to trust only ourselves
We have come to believe in worldly values
We have come to seek worldly goods
We have come to look only after our own destiny
We have come to distrust everyone
We have come to love ourselves

YOU want to have financial freedom
YOU want to have worldly goods
YOU want to have a successful marriage
YOU want your kids to grow up, having a meaningful life
YOU want to have a successful career
YOU want everything...
Do YOU want God?
Look for yourself,
Open your eyes
Open your ears
Open your heart
Open your soul
Open yourself
Because God WANTS YOU!

He loves YOU
He cares for YOU
He has faith in YOU
He waits for YOU
He has plans, greater that YOU can imagine - for YOU

God waits patiently for YOU
To come back to Him
To tell Him that YOU need Him
To tell Him that YOU trust Him
To tell Him that YOU love Him
To tell Him that YOU are His
To be led by Him
To be fed by Him
To be guided by Him

If God is for YOU, who can be against YOU?
Who can overpower God?
Who can tell the wind to blow?
Who can tell the waves to stop crashing onto the beaches of the world?
Who can tell the sun to stop shining?
Who can?
Can YOU?

If YOU can not do these things
Why do YOU trust in yourself?
Trust in Him that can do all of these things
Him that can do so much more than these things
He can change everything
If YOU allow Him to do it
If YOU trust Him enough

God waits for YOU
He loves YOU
He cares for YOU
He has plans for YOU
He knows YOU

Why YOU?
Because YOU are His child
Confess to Him
And come back to Him
He was, is and will always be there for YOU!
It is up to YOU!

TODAY'S HUKAMNAMA FROM SRI DARBAR SAHIB Sri Amritsar.

How to become Divine?

According to the holy Sikh scripture Guru Granth Sahib: The simplest equation of spirituality is: Man - ego = God.

Sikhism is not just another ism or a religion but is the simplest spiritual way of life  for the entire  mankind to follow,  as enunciated by Guru Nanak and his holy successors. The Divine wisdom of the Sikh Gurus is incorporated in the form of holy hymns in the Divine scripture, known as Guru Granth Sahib, the Eternal Guru of the universe.

It is clearly defined in Guru Granth Sahib as to how this universe was created and demolished many
a time:

Saache te pavnaa bha-i-aa pawanai te jal hoe
Jal te tribhawan saajiaa ghat-ghat jot samoe (19)

(Air came into existence from the Divine. Then air created water, which in turn created the whole universe, where the Divine light is pervading.)

It is further narrated in Sukhmani Sahib that the universe was created and destroyed several times:

Ka-ee baar pasrio paasaar. Sadaa Sadaa ik ekankaar (276)
(Many times has the universal expanse recurred. Ever and ever, the Unique Lord remains the same.)

In fact, Guru Nanak says:

Houmai wich jag upjai purkhaa naam visarai dukh paaee.
Gurmukh hovai su giaan tatt beechaarai houmai shabad jalaaeae (946)

(O  man,  through  ego the  world  comes into  being. By forgetting the Name, it  suffers  pain  and  perishes. The one, who becomes Gurmukh contemplates the essence of spiritual wisdom; through Shabad he burns his ego.)

The universe was created under the influence of ego and the human being forgot the Divine. This led to all his miseries (hell). A divine person sheds his ego by perceiving or imbibing divine wisdom with meditation on the Divine Name and merges his self with God.

Water created the earth, where many species of plant kingdom and animal kingdom came into being. In the process  of evolution the human being came into existence with the sole aim of merging his
self with the divine:

Bhaee paraapat maanukh dehureeaa. Gobind milan kee ih teree bareeaa. (12)
(This human form has come into your possession. It is your opportunity to realize the One, who sustains the Universe.)

There are two forces working in the universe. One is positive force, called the divine and the other is negative force called ego.Let us take the example of the human being, who is considered to be the most superior amongst all the species. Every cell of his body has positive force (divine) and negative force (ego).

He, who completely eradicates his ego attains salvation in this very life. Salvation means to become divine (God). Guru Sahib ordains: O man! Shed your ego completely to become Divine (God):

Jeevan mukat so aakheeai mar jeevai mareeaa (449)
(He, who effaces his ownself and is dead in life, is said to have been emancipated while alive.)
Dubidhaa chhod bhae nirankaaree (685)
(Forsaking duality, one becomes the worshipper of the One Formless Lord.)

As stated above, a very simple equation of spirituality is: Man - ego = God

All the worldly thoughts, figures or pictures, negative emotions and instincts are egoistic.

All the worldly  intellectuals as well as fools are egoistic because they do not know the way of treading the Divine path to achieve salvation:

Hao wich moorakh hao wich siaanaa (466)
(In pride he is foolish and in pride he is wise.)

All forms, which are created and with the passage of time destroyed, are not considered to be true reality. Similarly, this universe is also not an everlasting reality. Gurbani  reminds us that this universe is false and will not stay forever:

Jag rachnaa sabh jhooth hai jaan lehu re meet (1428)
(O my friend, know this that totally false is the structure of the world.)

Gurbani further stresses:
Ih jag dhooe kaa pahaar. Tai saachaa maaniaa kih bichaar (1187)
(This world is a mountain of smoke. By what reasoning have you deemed it to the real?)

Every religion of the world has accepted that there are two ways in this Universe. One is leading to heaven and the other to hell. Heaven is considered as salvation of man. The concept of heaven or salvation is  visualized differently in different religions. But according to the holy Guru Granth Sahib, the attainment of heaven or salvation is the merger of the human being with the Divine (God) by shedding his ego completely in this very life on earth.

Unique

Have you ever stopped to think what an awesome, exceptional, and remarkable human being you are?

Of all the people who ever lived on this earth, not one of them is just like you. No one who ever lived had the abilities, limits, talents, appearance, happiness, sorrows, opportunities, burdens, and possibilities that you have.

No one has exactly the same thoughts as you do. No one seeks exactly as you do. No one prays just as you do. No one loves all the same people that love you. Even the ones who laugh like you, don't sneeze like you. The ones who cry like you, don't have the same sorrow you do. The ones who smile like you, don't know the same joys that you do.

No one before and no one to come has your gifts. You weren't meant to be like anyone else. You don't need to change to show that you're different. You were meant to be special. At no time in all history will the same things be going on in someone else's mind, soul, and spirit, as with you this very moment.

If you did not exist, there would be a gap in our lives, a change in our history, a hole in creation, and something missing from God's plan. Cherish your uniqueness. It is a gift given only to you.

No one can speak your words. No one can cry your tears. No one can impart your cheer and joy. No one can smile your smile. No one can bring your unique impact to another human heart. No one can take your place.

The gift of uniqueness was given you to tell about and to enjoy. Let it inform and inspire you. Reach out to others with your life. Share of yourself along life's pathway. You are God's gift and unique to this world.

Tanti Saaj

This video was produced as part of the Sangat Arts series and presents the recent Tanti Saaj workshop organised as a collaborative effort by the Gurmat Sangeet Academy and the Nishkam Centre, Birmingham. The event delivered a first time experience to people that had never had the opportunity to try and play a traditional stringed Sikh instrument. The purpose of the event was to help educate people about some of the musical tradition given to us by the Sikh Gurus to help preserve or rich heritage. This joint effort delivered a fantastic workshop which was well attended by many people from all over the Midlands and was able to to meet its objectives in a fun and friendly manner. It was attended by the old, young, Sikhs and non Sikhs with a keen interest in music.

Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, and Fulfill it.

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”
The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying:

“Just take care of my eyes dear.”

This is how human brain changes when the status changed. Only few remember what life was before, and who’s always been there even in the most painful situations.

Life Is A Gift

Today before you think of saying an unkind word–
think of someone who can’t speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food–
think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife–
think of someone who is crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life–
think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children–
think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep–
think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive–
think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job–
think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another–
remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down–
put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.

Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, and Fulfill it.

Tune your instrument of life daily

Over the centuries we have developed our collective human opinions around primitive emotions; an emotional body, stuffed with survival reactions that have not been advanced or revitalized for many millions of years. These opinions may hold no truth; they may only be opinions . . . but they are wrapped in ancient emotions that have no modern bearings of language to argue against them . . . so they live by default and influence us from their position in the subconscious.

Opinions want to survive, like anything does, and our emotions support this desire. Look how long the flat Earth lived in the fears of the Dark Ages.

It is now time to separate these collective opinions from their individual facts . . . even cosmic opinions need separating from their emotional support. These same cosmic opinions build and propagate our family, cultural, national, and religious stories. These are fantastic stories that fan the flames of territory, protection and intolerance, none of which were a part of the life or attitude of the family members, the national founders, or the religious Prophets. These stories are simply opinions supported by ancient collective survival emotions of humanity . . . emotions [in fact] that everyone now has to overcome.

Our opinions of this universe being a 'uni' 'verse' are the same as our older opinions of a flat Earth. It is time to upgrade our operating systems and realize just how large Infinity is.

Shame is another such opinion; a human pandemic from ancient emotions that has developed a real head of steam over the centuries. It is a 'go-to' feeling carried by many bloodlines to elicit control from others in an attempt to command safety.

The fear of death is another sensation of life that is out of tune and out of time. It is a reminder that we must not only master the instrument of life — we must keep it tuned. Without tuning, even great playing will be way off key.

When we shy from confronting to correct these erroneous opinions; we allow them to permeate and prevail. In terms of realities over opinions; we must build the collective awareness beyond these emotions if we want to spread any sense of real life. The Universe is a multi-verse; the Earth is round; life can be enlightened to see beyond the doors of death; and shame is an ancient fantasy, begging for a more conscious world to replace it. These and more are the basics to be mastered and taught.

Tune your instrument of life daily . . . be in touch, be in tune, be in time with your space always . . . this is Sadhana . . . a key to the 'new economy' in the 'next evolution'. This is growth . . . this is living life.

Giani Gurdev Singh - Sikhi Camp Malaysia (Talk 1 AM)

Thought....

Establish your passions on a day to day basis. Whatever you attach your conscious and undoubted passions to will manifest. This is a power and miracle of the human being actually being human . . . the light (hue) in the mind (man) has the power that no other creature does. This human worship instrument we possess as a human being allows our passion to produce , literally from out of the blue whatever we consciously envision on Earth. No other creature has this ability this is our advantage in a whole world of disadvantages.

There are two rather opposite directions of working consciousness into this equation of manifestation: 1) create horizons; 2) create focal points. Horizons cast and open the nets of the mind to wander, wonder and gather ideas and prospects available into the space of life. Focal points draw in this net of perception around what is present; to determine what is appropriate for any given moment of time in life. The direction of the eyes during meditation is important: when you mediate on your third eye point, you create horizons; when you meditate on the tip of your nose, you create a focal point.

Make use of meditations in this way. Establish a process of consciously envisioning; then with determined intention, remove the inappropriate doubts and develop the appropriate passions. Use the power of this human body, this human worship instrument to become the life you want to live.

I’ve learned...................

I’ve learned-
that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.

I’ve learned-
that no matter how much I care, some people just don’t care back.

I’ve learned-
that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.

I’ve learned-
that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I’ve learned-
that it’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts.

I’ve learned-
that you should never ruin an apology with an excuse.

I’ve learned-
that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you’d better know something.

I’ve learned-
that you shouldn’t compare yourself to the best others can do.

I’ve learned-
that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I’ve learned-
that it’s taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I’ve learned-
that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I’ve learned-
that you can keep going long after you can’t.

I’ve learned-
that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I’ve learned-
that either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I’ve learned-
that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.

I’ve learned-
that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I’ve learned-
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I’ve learned-
that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.

I’ve learned-
that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I’ve learned-
that sometimes when I’m angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give me the right to be cruel.

I’ve learned-
that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I’ve learned-
that just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.

I’ve learned-
that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.

I’ve learned-
that you should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if they believed it.

I’ve learned-
that your family won’t always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren’t related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren’t biological.

I’ve learned-
that it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you are to learn to forgive yourself.

I’ve learned-
that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn’t stop for your grief.

I’ve learned-
that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I’ve learned-
that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.

I’ve learned-
that just because two people argue, it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. And just because they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean they do.

I’ve learned-
that we don’t have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I’ve learned-
that you shouldn’t be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.

I’ve learned-
that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I’ve learned-
that no matter how you try to protect your children, they will eventually get hurt and you will hurt in the process.

I’ve learned-
that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.

I’ve learned-
that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I’ve learned-
that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

I’ve learned-
that it’s hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people’s feelings, and standing up for what you believe.

I’ve learned-
that people will forget what you said, and people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Thought

Doubt holds us landlocked in paralysis unable to move either way. The time we spent doubting is the time we are not alive. So, rid our self of the doubt, take that step one way or another, our heart knows what is best, but take it right now.

"If when meditating — all your garbage does not come out to greet you — you are probably not meditating."

Seekers — students of the Infinite, students of yoga, students of life — often complain that when they sit down to meditate, they are not always greeted by the pleasantness of openness, the attitude of readiness, or a heartfelt sense of willingness. The great master Yogi Bhajan said many times, "If when meditating — all your garbage does not come out to greet you — you are probably not meditating."

Meditation disassembles old thought patterns and reassembles them into ones that better serve the 'pre—awakened' on the path to becoming 'awakened'. This is not always a dance — much of the time it is a struggle — especially when you run into patterns that have become attachments.

Attachments are common when patterns have been in place for many years . . . and most of every one's patterns have been. They are entrenched in the established system — the subconscious believes they are protecting your life perfectly and does not plan on giving them up that easily.

Do not be concerned; meditation is not about getting it right, it is about getting right to it and doing so daily. It is not about proving who you are . . . it is about improving who you are. It is about becoming aware of the rhythms of your life in relation to the experience of life, and getting these experiences in touch with their deeper meanings . . . in touch with your purpose.

Meditation will definitely be running into garbage here . . . if you are doing it properly. Welcome the garbage and rejoice in the joy of the exposure to the light of day . . . it will ultimately liberate you from the burden.

Your Best Year..............................

Like in everything we do, in life there is not a second chance; every moment, either we lose or win! Everything is mental; we bring to our life what we think about most of the time.

The road has two ways, one toward light and other toward darkness. Life is a choice! Everything and Everybody starts from zero; it is your choice in what place you finish. If we accept mental poverty, all kinds of poverty is what we get.

Change your attitude to win now! Be happy and relaxed, regardless of any circumstance. Always focus only on the solutions; don't let anybody rob you of your happiness. Don't allow challenges or circumstances to defeat you.

Do the right thing. Demand from yourself whatever it takes to win - clarity, focus, effort, persistence, sacrifice, discipline, passion, and love - not just to survive but also to win!

Life is a give and take; we stop receiving as soon as we stop giving the best of us!! That's the balance of life!!! If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door. Every tomorrow you will do even better.

Yes you can!

Yes you can do this. Make this coming year your year; just you have to believe in you.
