Innocent children invest no capital or judgement in being wrong. They are simply wrong when they are wrong and 'OK' with that . . . no guilt, no shame, no capital, no judgement.

Innocence is one of the keys to learning . . . being wrong some of the time is a guaranteed event while learning. It indicates courage. Courage is a word that means  coming from the heart and at the heart of the game is the fulfilment point.

Remain a student throughout your life . . . be constantly willing to begin at a beginning as a beginner. Then be happily wrong to become happily right . . . invest your capital in the right of eventually discovering right. It is an adventurous and rewarding path and honours your highest self.

Where we are actually located right now in this life is what is referred to as our fate . . . the actual conditions and consciousness and emotions and thoughts of this very accurate — yet un-progressed and un-regressed — moment.

Our destination in this life . . . the reality of who we ultimately are — who we can become through all your activated options is referred to as our destiny.

The journey of a human life is to travel from where we are — our fate — to who we are — our destiny.

Most people consciously or unconsciously distract themselves from living in either of these locations. They are neither where they are, or who they are, but a chaotic mixture of being distracted from the actualities of fate and doubting the possibilities of destiny. All this while life patiently and dutifully waits on some parallel track . . . waiting for consciousness to awaken to at least one of these opportunities.

The process of destiny has forever . . . the awakening however, will take place in a single given moment . . . welcome its arrival with all our heart and with every breath.

Stranded in the Strait

One of the saddest videos I've seen in a long time about a group of Sikh youth stuck on the north tip of Africa desperately trying to make it to a new life in Europe. From a documentary entitled Stranded in the Strait by Alberto G. Ortiz:

In the densely forested hills above Ceuta, a Spanish enclave on the Moroccan coast, 57 young Indian immigrants await their fate in a shanty community they’ve built to avoid deportation. With lush visual style, the film accompanies them in their daily trials as they scramble to survive, waiting to cross the last 14 km that separate them from Europe. Will they make it there?

Dreaming...

Does dreaming really affect our lives?

Does it really make any difference with how we manage to live our lives in the midst of doubts and uncertainties?

Yes, it does!

Sometimes, what makes our day more relaxed and leaves us with a lighter feeling is enjoying the freedom of dreaming about good things that we hope to happen to our lives- without any limits or boundaries. We could freely think of things we surely know that would do our lives more good than damage.

We don't know what is in store for us. The things we do today are part of how we picture the kind of life we want to enjoy tomorrow.

We deal with things in our own unique ways. We are all players in our own worlds.

Sometimes we are being invaded by adversities, which block our way and distract our focus. But even with disturbances along our way, that act like our opponents whom we might think are stronger than we are, still, we opt to win. To lose is not an option. Nobody plays to lose. Nobody wishes for his own failure.

Dreaming is free. Each of us has his own dreams. We dream... and these dreams of ours sometimes bring out from us who we really are in terms of ways of how we deal with things. We tend to act according to what kind of dreams we have, with all the freedom of making our dreams come true.

Normally, people think of things that will help them grow, but there are those who take unlawful actions to get what they want.

A dream to me is a picture of the place where we want to find ourselves someday; it is how we want to see ourselves in the time to come, and it is like a draft of our own design of how we want things to look like by the time we get there.

There are those who just draw in their minds the picture of their dream life in the future. There are those who put on paper, through writing or drawing, the things they want to have.

I have the real happiness in my heart seeing my family enjoying the life we are living today... the kind of life that we never had in the past. I am so delighted helping my children work on their dreams and making those dreams come true!"

Dreaming keeps our lives in motion; it keeps us going. Dreaming is something that makes a difference in our lives; it makes us more energetic, more courageous and more positive in dealing with life. It gives us a better view about life so we probably learn to be more patient and to remain hopeful of finding, in our future, the things we are dreaming of.

In dreaming, there is no room for failure.

Of course, we think of things that will make us happy. But we should always keep in mind that God knows what is best for us, He gives us what we deserve.

Who Says You Cannot........?

Who says you cannot, Tell him he is wrong.
Bigger are you, than opinions, Much larger than you think.
What is needed but time, Till then in patience wait.
For want of success, You dare.
For want of glory, Striving, you must be,
With a heart that is set, Mind that is fixed, Arms that are ready.

Then shall you see, The rising of you, the inside 'you'.
High above the shadows, Beyond views and opinions.
Everyone will then know, When the phoenix rises, Nothing stands in the way.
When the storms subside, Opportunities come to play.
This is a law of life unsaid, Are you willing to embrace?

Time is coming when, You will rise and your problems, subdue.
Then will the sun shine, radiantly, On your way to success and grandeur.
Imperative it is to move on - now, For stagnation is the greatest disease.
Dynamic is the world you live in, Thus, keep up the pace.

Leave your worries to the worrier, For there are many - truly many.
Invest your 'you' in to edification, For you are called to prove That you are bigger than opinions.
You are commissioned to show, That you are larger than your shadow.
Keep up the pace And you shall prove so!

I Am Me

I am me. I have always been me, but for some reason or another I want to be someone else.
Why is it when I look in the mirror, I see someone that I do not like? Someone in fact, I loathe sometimes.

Do I not love myself?
Am I not good enough?

Did I do something wrong in life that has made me feel this way, or was something done to me to make me feel like this that is buried under years and years of hiding from it?

Maybe I should search the depths of my soul and reveal this pain inside and deal with it. Hmmm... that is a good idea.

I need to find myself and learn to love me for who I am and not the way someone else wants me to be. I am a great person, but never show how good I am because I am always trying to impress people into thinking I am who they think I am.

When will I stop settling for things that make me happy on the outside, safe and comfortable things, where I do not have to stretch and grow and become who I was meant to be???

I know I am fighting a never-ending battle with my inside on a daily basis. My heart tells me to do one thing, but my outside cowardly person tells me another.

The inside is the most important, right?

The opinion of the heart should win this all the time, right?

I know this will be uncomfortable for me, but that is where I will grow. I need to feel the pain of letting go, so I can truly enjoy my future.

When will I break out of this bubble that is surrounding me and sucking me in, and scream out to the world I AM ME?

Excellence...................!

"Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude." (Ralph Marston)
A gentleman once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God. Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby.

Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?"

"No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage."

The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage... "Where is the damage?" he asked.

"There is a scratch on the nose of the idol," said the sculptor, still busy with his work.

"Where are you going to install the idol?"

The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high.

"If the idol is that high, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked.

The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I know it and God knows it!"

Moral - The desire to excel should be exclusive of the fact whether someone appreciates it or not. Excellence is a drive from inside, not outside. Excel at a task today - not necessarily for someone else to notice but for your own satisfaction.

Disappointment and Frustration

Many of us, whether we are conscious of it or not, create much of the unhappiness we experience. Our disappointments are the result of our own negative or limited thoughts about ourselves and our world.

What are some of those limiting thoughts, those subconscious beliefs, which keep us from experiencing joy and wholeness?

One of those beliefs is that we cannot be fulfilled unless we are loved and accepted by those who are the victims of our past experiences, that we are too old or too set in our ways to change.

Still another false idea is, "It's a catastrophe if things don't go my way!"

Then, too, there's the self-defeating attitude that to love is to lose, so "I'd better prepare for the worst to happen because it will."

Two more irrational beliefs are, "I have no control over my happiness and I want life to be easy and without hassles; therefore, I'll avoid discomfort or any new commitments."

TODAY I will see each disappointment in my life as a challenge to discover the negative or limited beliefs which keep me from seeing myself as a person of unlimited resources and potential.

Live Life, Live Now

If the possibility of dying in our sleep never stopped us from going to sleep every night, why should the thought of getting hurt stop us from falling in love?

Life is a never-ending gamble. In everything we do, we gamble our hearts and our very own existence, so why be afraid to take risks and live life?

We are innately vulnerable to both natural and man-made mishaps and catastrophe. We can get hit by a car anytime, get struck by lightning, catch a virus, break a bone, the roof can collapse whilst we are asleep, even a simple act of yawning can result to a very unfortunate case of locked jaw.

We do not have the faculty to protect our loved ones either. One way or another, someone close to us will go, get hurt or even leave us for good. We have no power over it nor can we avert such an event. We cannot fully insulate ourselves as well as our hearts either. Even the healthiest person can get sick.

One way or another, we will care for someone and that someone will deliberately or inadvertently cause us pain. So what's the point of going to extreme lengths to be wary and vigilant about life?

Lets live in this world like there's no tomorrow. Go places you've only dreamed of going, meet people, materialize your wildest dreams, conquer your fears, do what you want, anyway you desire, and don't let anybody tell you how to live your life. It's your life and we only live it once.

Follow your dreams, what is there to lose? Keep trying. Keep pushing. Never take no for an answer. It's your aspiration and no one has the right to say no to your dreams except you and you are the only one that can make it happen.

Give your heart to someone. Don't be afraid to love and get hurt. You have survived it before; you will survive it again. Love with all your heart, do whatever it takes. If it doesn't work out, at least in the end you can say to yourself that you did your part. Like an old saying says, "Sing like no one's listening, dance like no one is watching and love like you have never been hurt before."

Live and love life! It can be a great one, if we want it to be.

I Promise Myself...

I Promise Myself...

To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.

To make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet.

To give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me.

Your Best Year

Your Best Year

Like in everything we do, in life there is not a second chance; every moment, either we lose or win! Everything is mental; we bring to our life what we think about most of the time.

The road has two ways, one toward light and other toward darkness. Life is a choice! Everything and Everybody starts from zero; it is your choice in what place you finish. If we accept mental poverty, all kinds of poverty is what we get.

Change your attitude to win now! Be happy and relaxed, regardless of any circumstance. Always focus only on the solutions; don't let anybody rob you of your happiness. Don't allow challenges or circumstances to defeat you.

Do the right thing. Demand from yourself whatever it takes to win - clarity, focus, effort, persistence, sacrifice, discipline, passion, and love - not just to survive but also to win!

Life is a give and take; we stop receiving as soon as we stop giving the best of us!! That's the balance of life!!! If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door. Every tomorrow you will do even better.

Yes you can!

Yes you can do this. Make this coming year your year; just you have to believe in you.

Daily Hukamnama - Jan 05, 2010

WADAHANS, FIFTH MEHL: Do not forget me, O God, Merciful to the meek. I seek Your Sanctuary, O Perfect, Compassionate Lord. || 1 || Pause || Wherever You come to mind, that place is blessed. The moment I forget You, I am stricken with regret. || 1 || All beings are Yours; You are their constant companion. Please, give me Your hand, and lift me up, out of this world-ocean. || 2 || Coming and going are by Your making. One whom You save is not afflicted with suffering. || 3 || You are the One Lord and Master; there is no other at all. Nanak offers this prayer with his palms pressed together. || 4 || 7 ||

Daily Hukamnama - Jan 01 2010

SHALOK, 3rd GURU: Spiritual wisdom, which would bring understanding, does not enter into his mind. Without seeing, how can he praise the Lord? The blind act in blindness. O Nanak, when one realizes the Word of the Shabad, then the Naam comes to abide in the mind. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: There is One Bani; there is One Guru; there is one Shabad to contemplate. True is the merchandise, and true is the shop; the warehouses are overflowing with jewels. By Guru's Grace, they are obtained, if the Great Giver gives them. Dealing in this true merchandise, one earns the profit of the incomparable Naam. In the midst of poison, the Ambrosial Nectar is revealed; by His Mercy, one drinks it in. O Nanak, praise the True Lord; blessed is the Creator, the Embellisher. || 2 || PAUREE: Those who are permeated by falsehood, do not love the Truth. If someone speaks the Truth, falsehood is burnt away. The false are satisfied by falsehood, like the crows who eat manure. When the Lord grants His Grace, then one meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. As Gurmukh, worship the Lord's Name in adoration; fraud and sin shall disappear. || 10 ||
